Product: BusinessLink/WEB
Modified Date:

Please use this as a guide to the successful installation of the BusinessLink Webserver. When all items have been completed or verified, please fax this checklist to a BusinessLink Support Engineer to complete the installation process.

Step 1 - Physical Cable Attachment

  • Unpack Webserver and attach power cable.
  • For all entry level BusinessLink/WEB systems, connect at least one phone line to the 'LINE/TELCO' jack of the supplied internal or external modem.
  • For all other BusinessLink/WEB systems, connect supplied DB25 male - DB25 female serial cable to the 'Host' port of the WHITE external interface on the side of the Webserver and the bottommost DB25 female card located at the rear of the Webserver. Connect at least one external modem to port '0' of the WHITE external interface using supplied DB25M - DB25 male serial cable. Connect phone line(s) to 'LINE/TELCO' jack of modem(s).
  • For all BusinessLink/Web systems, connect appropriate LAN cables from iSeries 400 and Internet network segments to the respective network cards located at the rear of the Coprocessor. The topmost network card is designated for the Internet segment and the bottommost card is designated for the iSeries 400 segment.
  • Power on Webserver.

Step 2 - iSeries 400 Software Installation / System Object Verification
  • Sign on to iSeries 400 with QSECOFR equivalent authority.
  • Place the BusinessLink iSeries 400 installation tape in appropriate tape device and enter 'LODRUN ' at command line. You will be prompted for three items. Enter 'ABL' for ABL Subsystem Name, 'ABLHSM' for ABL HSM Subsystem Name, and '*NONE' for Twinax Device Name. Once these parameters have been specified, press Enter to execute the install program. When complete, iSeries 400 session should return to command line.
  • The installation program will create a user profile named ATFMPGMR which will be used to complete the installation as well as fulfill possible future requests made of BusinessLink support engineers. Verify that this profile has *USE authority to commands *RSTOBJ and *CRTLIB. These commands are used to install customer specific key information and create a temporary storage library for future upgrades or enhancements.
  • For all BusinessLink/Web systems, BusinessLink iSeries 400 software makes use of the iSeries 400's virtual terminal device. Depending on OS/400 software release level, two system objects may exist which deny use of virtual terminals by application programs. These two objects are named QPADEVR and QPADEVS. They are both programs in library QSYS which have a default priority of *PUBLIC *EXCLUDE. These authorities need to be modified to *PUBLIC *USE. Also, BusinessLink/WEB systems using virtual terminals may require that the system value QAUTOVRT be increased to accommodate the Java and AB/Remote session utilized by remote clients. This system value needs to be increased by 12 / 52 / 92 / 416 for Entry / Growth / Strategic / Enterprise BusinessLink/WEB systems respectively.
Step 3 - Start ABL Support Session

  • Start the ABL support function. This will give Businesslink support engineers the ability to sign on to the iSeries 400 and complete the webserver configuration. iSeries 400 commands are as follows:

    ==> ADDLIBLE ABLSPT
    ==> STRSPTABL CPCINETADR('nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn')
